CHICAGO - For the eighth and final time this season, the Green Bay softball team (13-25) came out on the wrong end of a one-run decision, as the Phoenix dropped a 1-0 result to Loyola (21-24-1) on Saturday morning. The Phoenix, the sixth seed in the Horizon League Tournament, played well, notching three wins, while suffering two one-run losses, including one in extra innings to top-seeded Cleveland State.

Green Bay finished the year with a 3-8 record in one-run games. Host school and fourth-seeded Loyola also kept the Phoenix winless in true road games (0-16).

Green Bay senior pitcher Anna Bluemel (9-12) suffered the loss despite allowing just one unearned run and limiting the Ramblers to three hits. The Loyola run came home in the fourth after Lindsay O'Gean reached on a leadoff bunt single, moved to second on a passed ball and third on a wild pitch. She then scored on a suicide squeeze bunt by Angie Funston.

Sophomore Amy Solava picked up the win for the Ramblers to improve to 15-14 on the year. The right-hander worked 7.0 innings, struck out six, scattered four hits and did not issue a walk. Green Bay never had a runner get past second base, and went down in order in the top of the seventh.

Bluemel was dominant in the Horizon League Tournament, as she posted a 0.93 earned run average over five starts. She tossed four complete games, struck out 24 and walked just three in 30.0 innings of work.

Green Bay batted .284 for the tourney after hitting .232 in the regular season. In addition, Phoenix pitchers compiled a 1.05 ERA after a 4.57 mark prior to the conference tournament.
