Dec. 7, 2007
GREEN BAY, Wis. - The Green Bay women's soccer team was recognized for its outstanding academic achievement by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, as the Phoenix was named to the NSCAA's Team Academic Award recipients. The honor marks the third straight year the Phoenix women have been recognized by the NCSAA for its academic success, as the team was also honored in 2005 and 2006. Green Bay was one of seven Horizon League schools to earn team academic honors from the NCSAA for women's soccer. Three Horizon League foes, Loyola, Valparaiso and Milwaukee, also had their men's teams honored by the NSCAA for academic success. Led by senior Lotte Rasmussen (Samsoe, Denmark) and sophomore Amanda Stinson (Green Bay, Wis.), the Phoenix posted a 3.30 grade-point average in the classroom. Rasmussen was a two-time All-Academic team honoree, and is a psychology major. Stinson was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District V First Team earlier this year, marking the third time in as many seasons a Green Bay player was named to the district's first squad.
