INDIANAPOLIS - The Green Bay men's tennis team was bounced from the 2008 Horizon League Championship Saturday afternoon, as the Phoenix fell to top-seeded Cleveland State 4-0 in the semifinal round.

Green Bay will now take on Butler Saturday at 9 a.m. EST for the third-place match. Cleveland State advances to take on UIC in the championship contest to follow at 10:30 a.m.

The Phoenix could not get the upper hand on the Vikings, as Cleveland State took the early lead with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Matt Clegg and Matt Keesey pressed for extra tennis at No. 2 doubles before falling, 9-7. Brian Zaron and Eric Plaushines were unable to score on their advantage at No. 3 doubles before the point was decided.

In singles action, Cleveland State utilized straight-set wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 singles to secure the match. Green Bay's Clegg and Zaron had their efforts cut short, as Clegg was entering a third set while Zaron was serving in the third.
