Compliance

Reporting a Violation

All UW-Green Bay staff members that have responsibilities within or over the Athletics Department are required to immediately report all alleged, rumored, or suspected rules violations to the Compliance Office. When reporting a rules violation, the information provided should be specific and include the following:

1. Name(s) of the person(s) involved.
2. Date of the alleged rules violation.
3. Nature of the alleged rules violation.
4. How you became aware of the alleged rules violation.
5. Any other pertinent information.

The Compliance Office and the Director of Athletics will make a determination, in consultation with the Horizon League if necessary, as to whether a violation occurred and which NCAA Bylaw was violated.

If the violation is a result of misconduct by a UW-Green Bay staff member, the Compliance Office will submit a written report of the violation to the Director of Athletics and/or Chancellor. They will determine UW-Green Bay's position and the action that will be taken as a result of the violation. If the violation is a result of misconduct by a student-athlete, the Compliance Office will determine the action of UW-Green Bay in consultation with the Director of Athletics, if necessary.

All violations will be submitted to the Horizon League and/or the NCAA by the Director of Athletics and the Compliance Office. The written report will include the specifics of the violation, the NCAA Bylaw violated, and the intended action of UW-Green Bay. A copy of the report sent to the Horizon League and/or the NCAA will be sent to the Chancellor, Director of Athletics, and Faculty Athletics Representative.

Be advised that self-reporting is recommended by the NCAA. Failure to report a violation when you know one has occurred can result in more severe penalties.
